Jean Carol Ellis

Jean Carol Ellis, 88, of Rougemont, NC died Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She was born in Stem, NC on September 15, 1932, to the late Benjamin Milton Washington and Selena Roberts Washington.

Jean is survived by her brother, Bill M. Washington of Long Island, NY; her sister, Mary Washington Long of Timberlake, NC; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Tom C. Washington, Sr. and her husband, Harvey Ellis.

A graveside service will be held at the Washington Family Cemetery in Stem on Monday, May 31, 2021, at 11:00 am. Rev. Norma Roberts and Rev. John Pritchard will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jean’s name to Stem United Methodist Church, 111 N. Old 75 Hwy., Stem, 27581.
