Abha Pal Ghosh

Abha Pal Ghosh, 75, of Chapel Hill, NC, passed away oneebruary 28, 2014. She was born to Rabrindranath and Lila Pal in East Bengal, India, July 4, 1938. Abha received a BS, MS, and PhD in Chemistry from the Uneersity of Calcutta, India. She was married to Kalyan K. Ghosh since January 29, 1965, and they moved to the US in 1966. Professionally, Abha was an accomplished biochemist researcher and well-liked educator and Professor of Chemistry at several US uneersities as well as the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences NIEHS. She retired from the role of Director for Institutional Research at Framingham State Uneersity in Framingham, MA and Mount Wachusetts College, Greeneeld, MA. Ineetirement, she and her husband Kalyaneettled in Chapel Hill, NC, and they traveled together throughout the world. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her children and family. Abha is survived by her husband Kalyan, and her two sons, Partha Ghosh and Anup Ghosh. She also leaves behind two grand-daughters and two grandsons - Rachel, Meghan, Jay, and Alexander Ghosh. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at the Hall-Wynne Funeral and Crematory in Durham, NC.
