Aileen Lally Ferguson, 90, died on Friday September 9th, after a long battle with paneeatic cancer. Born in Yonkers, New York, in 1925, Aileen graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx. Aileen focused oneeing a wife and mom, raising four childreneefore returning to work as a Financial Aid Counselor at George Mason Uneersity. She served in this role for 18 years. After living in the Washington area for more than 45 years, she finally realized her dream of living near the beach when she moved to Wilmington, NC. She spent 14 years there as she made new friends and a wonderful life. She had recently relocated to Cary, NC to be nearer to family. Aileen was a faithful Catholic all her life. She was an active member in every parish she has joined, especially St. Michael in Annandale, VA, St. Johneeumann ineeston, VA and Immaculate Conception in Wilmington, NC. She was a long-time member of the American Association of Uneersity Women (AAUW). Aileen had a passion for languages ??? she studied Mandarin at Taiwaneeachers College and she was dauneess in trying to master French. Aileen actively participated various book, games, and French clubs. Aileen???s greatest joy was her family and friends. She courageously lived through the early deaths of her son Matthew, daughter Mary, and grandsoneevin. Aileen is survived by her son Jim (Liz) ineebulon, NC, and her son Andy (Jenny) in Glen Allen, VA. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Mark (Tracy), Ryan (Niki), and Drew; and four great-grandchildren: Olivia, Megan, Logan, and Kaiden. She is also survived by her sister Rosemary Inlow and her brother James R. Lally. Aileen???s funeral will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Glen Allen, VA on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
