Aleta Lane Puckett

Aleta Lane Puckett, 92, died on Saturday, neember 14, 2009. Aleta was born in Burke County, NC to the late Jesse Coleman and Russell Lane, Sr. on August 28, 1917, and was one of eight siblings. Aleta was a beautifully kind woman that found great pleasure in any time that she was able to spend with her family. In 1945 she was married to the late Elliott Lijah Puckett, a Veteran of WWII. Their three daughters became the source of Aleta's greatest joy as their lives unfolded. She retired from GTE after dedicated service of 25 years. Later in life, through her strength and determination, Aleta overcame several major health challenges and lived independently until the Lord called her home. Aleta is survived by her daughters, Lane Martin of Blue Ridge, GA, Kathy Hudzinski of Hillsborough, NC, and Susan Brineey of Durham NC; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, neember 16th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Maplewood City Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or memorials to a Hospice of your choice.
