Aline G. Lanee

Aline G. Lanee, 99, died at her home in Chapel Hill on Sunday, neember 23, 2008. Aline was born in Hillsgrove, RI oneebruary 7, 1909, to French-Canadian immigrant parents, Emma and Telesphore Dugas. She was a woman of many talents who shared her gifts for music, painting, and needlework. After studying the violin as a child she played along with her sister in a dance band and loved playing the fiddle until very recently. Family members and neerous friends will cherish all of the artistic creations that she has left them. Aline was predeceased by her husband Arthur E. Lanee in 1966. She is survived by her daughter Janet Lanee Clegg and son-in-law Thomas B. Clegg of Chapel Hill; her son Ronald A. Lanee and his wife Alyce of Braineee, MA. Other survivors include her older sister Odna Lamarre of Lincoln, RI; grandchildren John T. Clegg and wife Catherine Horn of Houston, TX; Kristen Lanee and Michael Lanee of Braineee, MA. Great grandchildren are Ryan Horn-Clegg and Harper Horn-Clegg of Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Aline's nee may be made to The Newman Catholic Student Center Parish, 218 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill, NC 27516-2738 or UNC Hospice, PO Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Please include "Aline Lanee Memorial" on the memo line of your check. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from the Newman Catholic Student Center, 218 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill. The Rev. Msgr. John Wall will officiate.
