Alma Grove Linden

DURHAM- Alma Grove Linden, age 97, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Rose Manor in Durham. She was under the care of Duke Home Care and Hospice. Alma was born in Cleveland, OH, to Harry Bruce Grove and Ada Grace Johnson Grove. She was married to Harry Frank Linden for 62 years prior to his death in 2005. As newlyweds, they moved east of Cleveland to the country. Alma was known for her holiday decorating skills, working beside Harry to build their homes and making maple syrup. After a move to Florida, she worked as Harry???s partner in their laundry and dry cleaning business. Ineetirement, Alma loved spending time with her grandchildren, leading pool aerobics, and playing cards with friends. After a move to North Carolina ineer later years she enjoyed visiting with her three great grandchildren, doing number puzzles and reading. She was also known for her joyous laughter. Alma is survived by her daughter, Karen Lynch and husband, Pete, of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Peter J. Lynch and Kelly Topping (Dr. Ryan); her great grandchildren, Katelyn Lynch, Peter Michael Lynch, and Nora Topping. If desired, memorials may be made to Duke Heart Center. Gifts.duke.edu.
