Altaree Estes Norris

Altaree Estes Norris, age 81, died this past week ineer Durham home. A Durham native, Altaree was born to the late Vascar and Nellie Hayes Estes. She was a graduate of Durham High School and a faithful member at First Baptist Church for 55 years. She was active in the nursery, the Woman's Missionary Union, flower committee and several other committees. Altaree was a caring and loving woman to her family and to her many friends in the Durham area. She enjoyed gardening and serving others in the community and will be greatly missed. Altaree is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Rebecca Norris Keith and husband, Dennis, of Kingsland, GA; and Susan Norris Grider and husband, Bill, of Timberlake, NC; her sister, Hazel Hunt and husband, Norman, of Durham; her grandchildren, Allison aneerineeith and Cole Grider; and step-grandson, Brandon Grider. She is also survived by neerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded ineeath by her husband of 46 years, Dallas H. Norris. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 from First Baptist Church in Durham. Burial will follow in Woodlawneemorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 111 3 W. Main St. in Durham.
