Amy Louise Brandt left this world on May 15, 2015.?? Amy was in the presence of her loving husband, mother, and relatives.?? Amy was born on April 2, 1978.?? She was the daughter of Suzanne Fix Brandt and Donald H. Brandt.?? Amy was preceded ineeath by her grandparents Patricia and Louis Fix and Herbert and Margaret Brant. On August 25, 2012 Amy married her one true love David Arthur.?? On August 23, 2013 Amy and David welcomed their precious daughter Emma.?? Anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with Amy, David, aneemma were immediately stuck by the genee love and radiant grace shared between the members of this intimate family. Amy learned at a very young age the power of a loving family.?? Amy spent many hours with her aunts, unees, and cousins.?? Summers were often spent in Madison, Wisconsin with Aunt Maureen and Unee Gery and cousins, Kurt, Brian, and Megan.?? Days were filled with sunshine, swimming pools, bike riding, and chemistry experiments led by Unee Gery (who also introduced Amy to the exotic pot pie).?? Visits concluded with camping trips organeed by Amy???s beloved mother, and ardent camper Suzanne.?? On winter weekends and holidays Amy spent time with her Lansing family; Aunt Amy, Unee Pat, and cousin Patrick; Aunt Tish, Unee Joe, and cousins Maryellen, Nathaneelizabeth, Michael, and Sarah, and Aunt Marynia and Unee Jeff and cousins Thomas and Jeffery.?? The Lansing visits were filled with wonderful meals, laughter, and sometimes pranks.?? Amy spent time with her father and Aunt Patricia, Aunt Linda, Unee John and cousins Dan, Di, Don, Nick, and Gabrille. As she grew older she spent time with her dad, occasionally ballroom dancing. Throughout her childhood Amy loved to read, to explore, to camp, and to make chocolate chip cookies.?? Amy???s love of chocolate lasted a lifetime.?? Amy also took art classes at the Kalamazoo Art Institute and developed a lifelong love of art.?? Amy and her mother visited art museums wherever they traveled, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Milwaukee, Paris, Rome, Boston and places too neerous to mention.?? Amy served as a very informative guide through museums offering insight into her growing passion for Modern and Contemporary Art. Amy attended the Uneersity of Michigan where she received a Bachelors??? Degree in Art History.?? At the age of 22 Amy left her home country to study art history and received a License in Art History from the Uneersity of Paris, Sorbonne.???? From Paris Amy traveled to Boston where she was awarded a Master of Arts from Tufts Uneersity.?? Amy received her PhD from The Graduate Center, City Uneersity of New York.?? At the time of her death Amy was the McKinnon Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia. Amy???s energy was bouneess.?? Amy???s book ???Interplay: Neoconceptual Art of the 1980s was published in 2014.?? Amy???s book was met with unqualified praise.?? During the last months of her life Amy completed work on an exhibition Tsen-Kwong Chi: Performing for the Camera and was also the author of the exhibition Catalogue.?? The Tsen-Kwong Chi exhibit opened ineew York in April and was acclaimed in the New York Times (Amy was elated). Ineer too short career Amy worked on maneexhibitions ineew York, Boston, Brooklyn, Norfolk and Monaco. Amy???s body of work speaks to her passion and love of art. Beyond her love of art and scholarship was Amy Louise Brandt???s ineedible Joie de Vivre.?? Amy was so filled with joy and love and was very generous ineer abilities to share that joy and love.?? Her love of David aneemma was magnificent.?? Her love of her mother and larger family beautiful to behold.?? ???Good night sweet Amy.?? And flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest.???
