Archie Ray Gunter

Archie Ray Gunter, 65, of 1319 Thompson St., Pittsboro, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at UNC Hospitals. Borneeptember 3, 1942 in Chatham County, he was the son of Jake Thompson Gunter and Thelma Gracie Johnson Gunter. Archie was a 1962 graduate of Pittsboro High School. He was a veteran, a member of Chatham Uneed Methodist Church, and an avid ROOK player. He was retired from the Uneelectric Distribution following 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hill Gunter; and his feline companion "Black Cat". The service to celebrate Archie's life will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Wachs at 2:00 pm Friday, June 27, 2008 from the Chapel Mausoleum of Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford. Entombment will follow.
