Arthur Gregory Blair, of Creedmoor, NC died Thursday, May 7, 2020. He was born in Oxford, NC on November 13, 1948 to his now predeceased parents, Charles E. Blair and Virginia C. Blair.
Arthur worked as a corrections officer with Umstead Correctional Center for 30 years before retirement. After retiring, he began working with Classic Food Services where he has been for more than 20 years. Arthur was always a hard worker and provider for his family. He loved Duke Football and Basketball, playing with and watching his grandchildren play baseball, was always peculiar over his yard and was known all over Creedmoor as always being on the lawn mower.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dale Blair of the home; and sons, Greg Blair and wife, Deanna of Creedmoor, NC, and Anthony Blair and wife, Rachel of Louisbrug, NC. In addition to his children, he is survived by seven beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cole, Sophia, Avaleigh, Eli, Liam and Jonas. In addition, he is survived by siblings, Judy Bradsher (Wayne) of Creedmoor, NC, and Deborah Parrish (Phillip) of Elkin, NC, Charles E. Blair, Jr., of Elkin, NC, Michael Blair of Creedmoor, NC, and many loving nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Marion Wright, and Katherine Blair; brother, Donald Blair; and sister-in-law, Yolanda Blair.
A private family graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor, NC with Pastor Buddy Ritter officiating. Pallbearers include, Robert Allen, Clayton Callicutt, Danny Gates, Karl King, John Mauney, and Carl Phipps, and honorary pallbearer, Walter Preddy. The public is invited to view the service remotely by following the link provided above. The link will become active at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date.
