Arvie David Matthews

A.D. MATTHEWS OXFORD- A. D. Matthews, age 77, a resident of Oxford, died Friday April 17, 2009. He was a native of Person County and was the son of the late Willie Stephen and Alma Setzer Matthews. He was preceded ineeath by his wife Mildred Jones Matthews. He was a former member of Knotts Grove Baptist Church. He retired from Burlington Mills after forty years of service as a fixer. Graveside services will be held Sunday April 19, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Knotts Grove Cemetery. Surviving is his daughter, Karen "Hope" Matthews Jones of Bullock; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by two brothers, Elbert " PePe" Matthews, Leonard Matthews and a sister Dorothy Newton. The family will receive friends at the home of Karen and W.T.
