Aubrey Daniel "A.D." Turrentine, Jr. died Saturday in Grace Health Care following a brief illness. A Durham native, he was the son of the late Aubrey D. and Jessie Rice Turrentine. He graduated from Durham High School and served in the US Navy during WW II. Mr. Turrentine spent over 50 years in sales with Motor Bearings & Parts. An avid golfer, he won the Civic Club Tourneent on eight occasions and was Herald-Sun champion in 1951. Mr. Turrentine was a member of Duke Memorial Uneed Methodist Church and the Spence Bible Class. Surviving are his son, Thomas Leo Turrentine of Durham; his grandson, Wyatt Daniel Turrentine of Durham, a sister, Orpah Rice King of Durham; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Bone Turrentine. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Alda Crump Turrentine in 1997; and son, Aubrey Daniel "Danny" Turrentine in 2006. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday from Duke Memorial Uneed Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ginger Thomas officiating. Friends may visit 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
