Barbara Jean Reeves

Barbara Jean Daniel Reeves, age 80, died at Raleigh's Rex Hospital on November 16, 2023. She was born on June 28, 1943 in Durham's Watts Hospital to the late Wallace L. Daniel and Ethel Jones Daniel.

She graduated from Southern Durham High School and she graduated from Campbell College, which is now Campbell University, with a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education. She worked at several Savings and Loans. At one point she was a Trust Officer at Wachovia Bank. She also worked at a Raleigh Chevrolet dealership. She taught for 20 years, many of them at Chewning Jr. High School in Durham. She loved flowers, birds, animals, and cooking. Her Brown Sugar Brownies were legendary. She dearly loved her dog, Maggie.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 plus years, Danny. She leaves behind two brothers, Wallace Daniel (Karol), Archie Daniel (Beth), and sister Linda Daniel (Michael O'Foghludha), and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces, all of whom she loved more than one can imagine. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace L. and Ethel Jones Daniel, and nephew Kevin O'Foghludha.

Visitation will be at Yates Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by at service at 11:00 a.m., and then to Maplewood Cemetery at 12:15 p.m. for a graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wake County Animal Shelter.
