Barbara Jean Jones Watkins, age 82, died on November 16, 2020 with her family. She was born to the late Ezra Jones and Dezola Keith Jones on October 5, 1938 in Wake County.

Barbara was a woman of simplicity and grace. Barbara graduated high school and then studied at Watt’s School of Nursing, where she attained her Nurses license. She worked at John Umstead Hospital until her retirement.

Barbara is survived by her great nephew, Lee Howard (Anna); her uncle Cecil Keith; and her special friends, Daphine and Otho Cash, Jr. She will be missed by numerous family and friends.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Ruby Jones Keith (Wallace) and her niece, Sherry Howard.

A funeral ceremony will be held at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Chapel on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Randy Pittman officiating. Private burial at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
