DURHAM ??? Barbara L. Adams, 77, died at Duke Uneersity Hospital on 12/25/2019. She was born on neember 12, 1942 ineevelland, Texas to the late George B. and Barbara C. (Goodloe) Adams. Raised in the small towns of Texas, she graduated from Gatesville High School in 1961. She was very musically talented and played the bass fiddle in the school's stage band. She was presented with the medal for excellence in band and voted band sweetheart her senior year. She lived ineew York and Illinois before settling in Rhode Island to raise her family.?? She worked at the former Coventry Credit Union, retiring in 2007. She was a member of Yates Baptist Church and took great pleasure ineer Sunday School Class.?? At home, she enjoyed painting, gardening, and was a very skilled quilter intricately hand-stitching dozens of quilts for friends, family and pure enjoyment. Barbara is survived by her four children Dawn (Paula), Adam (Vicki), Luke and Holly; her brother Rocky Adams, sisters Pamela Adams, Rebecca Hagood, her brother-in-law Dave Hagood, and her grandsons Nico and Marc Fry, and Connor Lane.?? She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her cat Mr. Pitt.?? She was preceded ineeath by her mother and father as well as her nephew Jonathan. Services are respectfully omitted, per her request.?? She was a proud Texan and Texas remained her home regardless of where she lived.?? Her final resting place will be surrounded by her relatives and her parents at Evergreen Bundrandt Cemetery in Purmela, Texas.
