DURHAM-Mrs. Barbara Sutton Aneews, 80, died February 16, 2016 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was born in Durham August 29, 1935 to Tipton P. and Pearl A. Sutton. In 1953, she graduated from Durham High School and attended East Carolina Uneersity. In 1995, Mrs. Aneews retired from Central Carolina Bank (Suntrust). While employed at CCB she worked for the Chairman of the Board, George Watts Hill, the Comptroller B.W. Harris, Jr. and President, William L. Burns, Jr. Prior to joining CCB she worked for Home Security Life Insurance Company. Barbara was an active member of Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church, the Animal Protection Society, serving as secretary, treasurer and member of the Board of Directors. She was also a member of Willowhaven Country Club, serving on the Board of Directors for three years. Barbara is survived by her wonderful husband of 57 years, Charles L. Aneews; her sister, Tippy Sutton; her nephew, Cole King and wife, Paula; her great-nephews, William C. King III and wife, Kerri ; and Adam J. King all of Durham. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Sutton King. The family will receive friends from 3:00 ??? 5:00pm Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Family Life Center of Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church, 1320 Umstead Road, Durham, NC 27712 or to the Animal Protection Society of Durham, Attn: Development Office, 2117 E.
