Bernard Stratton Whitlow Passed away April 4th, 2023, at age 69 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Petersburg VA, March 27th, 1954, to Charles Whitlow and Grace Abernathy and grew up in Blackstone VA. He attended Piedmont Aviation school in Winston-Salem, where he met his soon to be wife Katherine Dellert. He was a helicopter mechanic and worked for Duke Life Flight for 33 years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved helping others bait and cast their lines to catch the biggest fish. Gardening was another hobby, and he took pride in the yield of his crops. His biggest pleasure, however, were his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of the young men his boys have become and the direction their lives have gone.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gracie Whitlow. He leaves behind to celebrate his life his wife of 38 years Katherine Whitlow (Kathy), two sons Thomas (Emily), and Taylor, three beautiful grandchildren, Stratton, Oaklynn, and Weller, two brothers, Charles Whitlow (Kathy) and Randy Whitlow (Donna), His nephews Cory, Chad, and Chris, and his two dogs, Maeve, and Gracie.
