Bettie P. Porter Woodlief, 87, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Uneersal Healthcare in Raleigh. Born in Franklinton, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon "Red" Porter and Lillie Wright Porter. Bettie Pearl worked at Burlington Mills and later retired from Formex. She was a long-time member of Franklinton Baptist Church. Surviving are her cousins, Otha May and wife, Betty Rose, and Rosemary Champion and husband, Ronald, all of Franklinton; and many other loving cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William "Bill" Woodlief. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Friday from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St., with the Reverend David Averette presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour before the service on Friday from 2:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home; and other times at the home of Betty and Otha May, 255 East Mason St. in Franklinton.
