Betty Weatherspoon Norwood

Betty Weatherspoon Norwood, age 87, died on June 26, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Sallie Woodruff Weatherspoon.?? Betty was born in Durham County oneeptember 27, 1931 and resided in Wake and Granville County for many prosperous years with her late husband, Billie E. Norwood. Betty was the mother of 3 boys and a loving friend to all. Her church and church family, sharing her time and life stories were four of her favorite things.?? She always said a ???short visit was better than no visit???. Betty enjoyed visits from her boys, her grandchildren and great grandchildren; always giving them her full love and attention.?? Although life threw her some curves, her attitude was one to be admired. Betty is survived by her children, Robert ???Skip??? Norwood (Linda) of Creedmoor, NC; Rodney Blake Norwood (Joanne) of Raleigh, NC; four loving grandchildren and six adoring great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by neerous loving friends and family. Betty was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Billie; her son, Johnny Norwood; her brothers, Paul T. Weatherspoon, Albert M. Weatherspoon, and Bobby Lewis Weatherspoon; and her sister, June Manning. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Hester Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jeff Heneey.?? The family will also receive guests in the church's fellowship hall immediately following the graveside. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made ineer honor to Hester Baptist Church, P.O.
