Wilson, NC Blanard ???Bud??? Currin, 88, died on July 14, 2019 at Wilsoneedical Center. Born to the late Allie Ray Currin and Nanee Adcock Currin oneeptember 14, 1930 in Granville County. Bud believed strongly in his church and loved his church family and community. He joined Hester Baptist Church at age 9 and was a dedicated member all his life.?? He was a people person and loved and supported his family and friends. He was born into the life of tobacco and made his career of 38 years with Export Leaf Tobacco Company progressing to the position of Greenleaf Coordinator. He believed strongly in a college education for all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and fully supported education for all. Bud lived a meticulous life, which was exemplified through his daily existence. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, basketball and baseball, from high school ball to pro ball. Bud is survived by his childreneelaine C. Hauser of Mt. Airy, NC and Jo Ann C. Averette (Mark) of Clarksville, VA; his 4 grandchildren, Dawne D. Hunter (Charles), Crystal A. Johnson, Amelia D. Woods (Chris), Mark S. ???Stan??? Averette, II; his 10 great grandchildren, Olivia Hunter, Grace Hunter, Kendall Johnson, Reece Hunter, Sophie Johnson, Libby Johnson, Lanie Beth Woods, Lila Kate Woods, Ellie Rose Woods, and Hudson Woods.?? He will be missed by his special friend, Isabel Fulghum, neerous special nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Bud was predeceased by his parents; his wife of many years, Alice Peele Currin; his brothers, Marsh Ray Currin, Richard David Currin, Alton Taylor Currin, and Joe Edward Currin and his sisters, Hazel Marie Currin and Mary Elizabeth Crumpler. Visitation for Bud will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Gentry ??? neell & Vaughan. Funeral service to be held oneednesday, July 17, 2019 at 11: 00 am at Hester Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Heneey. Burial to follow service at Hester Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Hester Baptist Church, P.O. Box 964, Oxford, NC, 27565 or to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, 1717 Alliant Avenue, Suite 14, Louisville, KY 40299 The Currin family is proudly being served by Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford, NC, 27565.
