In accord with the precept of the Rule given by our Holy Father Francis (Regula Bullata, Ch. III), the norms of our Constitutions (Ch. IV, Title III, art. 102, #4), the General Statutes (Ch. IV, Title III, art. 43, #1), and our own Province Statutes (4.5,6)

When a professed friar or novice of our Province dies, a Mass must be offered for him by every priest of the Province. Friar Brothers and those in initial formation must assist at the community or some other Mass for the deceased friar. The above norms also oblige those friars of the Province who may be living outside the Province.

The friars are strongly encouraged to participate at the funerals of our confreres and the parents of our confreres to strengthen the bond of fraternity and to give spiritual consolation in time of sadness.
