Brandon Patrick James, age 30, died unexpectedly in Boone, NC oneecember 8, 2016. A Durham native, he was born to Mardi Linker James and Paul S. James on April 30, 1986. At the time of his death he was enrolled at Appalachian State, where he was a Building Science major with a focus in Architectural Technology and Design. Brandon excelled in 3D drafting in high school at Riverside, where he was also in ROTC. He had a great sense of humor and could replace lyrics of well known songs in an instant. His guitar and singing was soulful, although he rarely sang unless asked. Good food, weather patterns, weight lifting, politics and music were his passions. He moved to California, the place he loved, for 7 years where he held a marketing job and CAD drafter jobs, and also started his own business. He came back East to his family in North Carolina 18 months ago and returned to his well-loved Appalachian State where he excelled in his studies. Making his family proud was first on his mind, and he always did just that. We will miss his unmistakable laugh: he laughed like he would neer laugh again. He is survived by his mother, Mardi Linker Warner, and his step-father, Seth Warner, of Durham, NC; his father, Paul S. James, of Aurora, CO; his brother, Richard James of Durham; and his sisters, Laura James Wright and husband, David, of Raleigh, NC; Sarah ???Faith??? Thomas and husband, Jeff, also of Raleigh; his step-brother, Ethan Warner of Olympia, WA and his nephew, Gage Wright; and his grandmother, Miriam Linker, along with several aunts, unees and cousins. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Christian Assembly Church with Pastor Dub Karriker presiding. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. It was Brandon???s wish to have his body cremated after the service at Hall-Wynne Crematory.
