Brenda Parrish Brogden, 66, died February 17, 2017, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. She was born in Henderson, NC on December 24, 1950 to Nellie F. Parrish and the late Charles Parrish. Brenda was a Godly woman whose faith and love for God, family and friends shined through in all that she did. She welcomed so many friends as though they were one of her own. She was a mother to the motherless, or to anyone who needed a second home. She treated everyone with true and honest kindness and her legacy will continue to live in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Johnny Brogden of Creedmoor; daughters, Amy Lane (Curtis) of Oxford, and Stacy Dillard (Danny) of Wake Forest; and one son, Johnny Brogden, Jr. (Leslie) of Oxford; her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Lane, Dalton Lane, Daniel Dillard, Katie Dillard, Johnny Bunn, Carrie Hill, Tyler Brogden, LeAnn Brogden, Brianna Brogden, and Issac Brogden; and her great grandchildren, Kathryn Barber and Zachary Raub. Brenda is also survived by her mother, Nellie F. Parrish of Creedmoor; sister, Shiela Wheeley (Andy) of Salisbury, NC and her brother, Charles J. Parrish (Christy) of Indiana. She leaves behind so many more family and friends that will greatly miss her amazing cooking, her honest discipline and loving touch. Visitation will be held at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Funeral Home, Oxford, NC, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 6:00 8:00 pm. A service will be held at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, Creedmoor, NC, with Pastor Billy Davis officiating. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to New Birth Worship Center, Creedmoor, NC. The Brogden family is under the care of Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford.
