Brodie Langdon, 83, went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 7, 2012. Brodie was born in Wake County, NC to the late William B. and Martha Noy Johnson Langdon on October 13, 1929. Brodie was an Army and a National Guard veteran. While ineervice, he acquired skills which he used in his thirty year career as a machinist with the American Tobacco Company. Brodie was a productive person who provided for his family. Having been raised on a farm, he enjoyed gardening. Often, he shared the fruits of his labor with his neighbors. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles which earned him the nicknee "Hot Rod". Brodie is survived by his daughters: Deborah Wood and husband Dan of Asheboro, NC, Kathy Crabtree of Chapel Hill, NC, and Kim McDonald and husband Todd of Bahama, NC. Brodie is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, and three brothers. A memorial service will be offered at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1104 Milton Road, Durham, NC 27712. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brodie's nee may be made to the Durham VA Medical Center, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705.
