Carl Erman Yates, Jr.

STEM: Carl Erman Yates, Jr. age 62, a resident of Stem, NC died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his home. He was born March 18, 1947 in Wilson County, son of the late Carl Yates, Sr of Burgaw, NC and the late Doris Walters Yates of Granville County. Mr. Yates graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1965 and attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. In 1967 he moved to Granville County where he was a member of Stem Uneed Methodist Church, a voluneer fireman and a member of the Stem Ruritan Club. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford, NC. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Jason Thornton. Burial will follow at the Bullock's Family Cemetery on Highway 75 in Stem, NC. Surviving is his wife, Judith Hallman Yates of Stem; three daughters, Beverly Ann Wilson of Colombia, SC; Christy Joy Getz of Morrisville, NC and Rebecca Louise Yates Stewart of Stem, NC; and one son, Gary Michael Yates of Stem, NC; and six grandchildren.
