Carolyn Coley London (b. 1942) of Durham helped raise her 5 siblings on a farm near Tabor City, NC before pursuing ambitious educational goals and a distinguished career in Human Resources for the Army and the National Institutes of Health, earning her several Achievement and Commander’s Awards.
In retirement, Mrs. London became a tax accountant, mediator, and tireless leader in the National Active and Retired Federal Employees’ Association in spite of progressively declining health. She tempered her passion for public policy with a love for music and art.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Frank London, and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
The family will welcome friends and colleagues at Hall-Wynne Funeral Services on Wednesday, May 26th, from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to www.giving.dukehealth.org or Chamber Arts Series of Duke Performances.
