Charles Hamilton Richards, 82, of Youngsville, NC died Wednesday, neember 15, 2017 at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC.?? He was born in Franklin County to the late Charles Ernest Richards and Anee Rella Murray Richards. Charlie was a graduate of Wake Forest Uneersity as a Phi Beta Kappa member.?? Following graduation, he began his career a ???newspaper man??? and public relations director.?? He was a proud Rotary member for more than 20 years and served as president of five separate Rotary Clubs over that time. Charlie maintained a personal library where he kept many great treasures including a collection of books on world history.?? He was a selfless man aneenjoyed serving other wheneer possible, especially if it gave him an opportunity to work outside cutting grass or cultivation fruit trees. Charlie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Alice Wilson Richards; son, Michael Charles; daughter, Melody Poli (Jon); grandchildren, Lauren, Heather, Charlie, Jon Paul, Sarah Jo, and Joseph.?? He is also survived by brother, Ernest Cordell Richards; nephews, David Richards; and many other loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel, 503 College St., Oxford, NC on Saturday, neember 18, 2017, at 2:00 pm.?? The family will receive guests for visitation prior to the service from 1:00 ??? 2:00 pm.?? A private Cremationeeremony will follow.?? Urn burial will occur in Woodlawneemetery, Orlando, FL, at a later time.
