Charlotte Marie Dickerson, 83, died on Thursday, May 13, 2010. Charlotte was born in Chase City, VA to the late Anee and Milton Crowe on August 27, 1926. Charlotte was a devout woman that served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher for Edgemont, Holloway and Aneer Avenue Baptist Church. She worked for over twenty years for the Physician's Exchange. Charlotte was a homemaker who cherished and cared for her family in every possible way. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Berchuck and staff Duke Oncology, Dr. Shipley and staff Durham Medical Center, Dr. Hardie Hood and Technicians Regional Cancer Care, Dr. Steve Wilson and assistant, Duke Hospital, Hock Family Pavilion, and for the loving care given by C.N.A. Robin Tilley and R.N. Sami Baty. Charlotte is survived by her husband Grady H. Dickerson; son Alan Dickerson Cindy; daughter Ann Allen all of Durham; grandchildren Kim Sullivan Tim, Clay Allen Christie, Adam Dickerson Tamellia, Shelley Merritt Stephen, Jessica, Chasity and Brittany Dickerson; great-grandchildren Charlie, Timothy and Greta Sullivan, Dylan and Taylor Allen, Kierra Woldu and her father Biniam Woldu, Brittany and Brianna Dickerson and many loving nieces and nephews. Charlotte is predeceased by her son Grady Dickerson, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, May 17, 2010 in the Chapel at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St. Durham. The Rev. Clarence Parrish will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Monday from 12 PM to 1 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
