Oxford, NC Christine Denny Mangum, age 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by family oneecember 4, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Henry Edward Denny and Mattie Mae Wilkersoneenny.?? She was born in?? Person County oneeptember 15, 1919 and resided in Granville County for many years with her late husband, Billy O. Mangum. Christine ???Teenie??? was one of the most loving and remarkable women you would ever meet.?? She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her pride and joy, Lilly Mae. ??She enjoyed all of her time spent with her grand-kids, nieces and nephews, aneespecially her favorite dog, Buddy.?? She was a Christian woman, who was a dedicated member of her church.?? She made a lasting impression on anyone she came across and will be dearly missed by many. Christine is survived by her son in law, Lucious Bullock; granddaughters, Cindy Ellington (Joey), Barbette Carey; grandson, Johnny Mangum (Sherry); great grandchildren, Lauren Haskins (David), Will Bullock (Rachel), Lance Ellington and Nolan Ellington; and great great granddaughter, Lilly Haskins. She is also survived by many other loving?? extended family members and friends. Christine was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Billy O. Mangum; daughter, Shelby Mangum Bullock; son, Billie Edward Mangum; grandson, Michael Owen Bullock; brothers, Archie Denny, Berley Denny, Eusry Denny, Melvineenny, Will Denny; and sisters,?? Fanee Sue Morris, Lottie Sherman, Louise Sherman, Thelma Cannady and Wilmer Lee Chapman. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Gentry-neell & Vaughan. Services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Keith Williams and Rev. Tim Atkinson. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Attn. Leonard Daniel, 109 Meadow Heights, Oxford, NC 27565.
