OXFORD: Claudette Hilton, a resident of 711 Williamsboro Street, Oxford, NC died at her home on April 1, 2009. Hilton was born in Granville County on May 27, 1950. She was a graduate of the 1968 class of J. F. Webb High School. She graduated from Harbargers School of Business in Raleigh, NC. She was a former secretary for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Raleigh and was a former secretary at Murdock Center in Butner, NC. Claudette was a member of Hester Baptist Church where for many years she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed music and singing which God blessed her with this beautiful talent. She loved her family and friends. Claudette had a wonderful heart for all that knew her. She also enjoyed being a member of the Mary Jamison Club for many years. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Hester Baptist Church by the Rev. James Shelley. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by her devoted mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hilton of Oxford, one sister Martha Hilton-Willett and a cherished and beloved niece, Claudia McCullough Willett. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am until 10:45 am in the parlor at Hester Baptist Church.
