Clinton "Pete" Weldon Capps, Jr.

Henderson Clinton "Pete Weldon Capps, Jr., age 90, of Henderson, died peacefully at home on June 29, 2018.He was born in Warren County on June 20, 1928, son of the late Lucy Shearin Capps and the late Clinton Weldon Capps, Sr. Pete was a heavy equipment operator by trade, an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a proud 62-year Master Mason. He loved to fish and hunt and was always ready for the next trip. He is survived by his wife, Laura Shane Capps; two daughters, Regina Kosher (Tom) and Ladonna Lassiter (Ronnie) and one son, Harold "Skip Capps (Sandy). Pete has three surviving brothers, Douglas (Faye), William "Dicky (Ora Mae) and Jimmy (Linda). He has his loving grandchildren; Lynea Koshar, Holly Campo (Anthony), Brandon Lassiter, Vicky Staisil (Scott) and great grandchild, Ariel Podloger. Pete was preceded in death by three sisters; Ruby, Marie and Annie and three brothers; Herman, Clifton and Allen and his son, Carlton Timothy Capps. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford, NC. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 11:00 am from Bullock Baptist Church, 4078 Buckhorn Rd, Bullock, NC. Burial will follow in Royster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Clinton's name to Bullock Baptist Church, 4078 Buckhorn Rd, Bullock, NC 27507.
