Clyde Thomas Johnson

DURHAM-Clyde Thomas Johnson, age 87, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Duke Uneersity Medical Center. Clyde was born neember 12, 1923 in Birmingham, AL to the late Harry Thomas Johnson and Laurella Wilder Johnson. He attended Oak Grove School before being drafted into the US Navy, aboard the Battleship Massachusetts for over 3 years during WWII, mostly in the South Pacific. Clyde is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Walker Johnson, daughter, Mary Louise Johnson of Durham; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Asbury Uneed Methodist Church, Durham Friends may visit from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, prior to the service at Asbury Uneed Methodist Church, Durham. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Asbury Uneed Methodist Church, Capital Campaign Fund, 806 Clarendon Street, Durham, NC 27705.
