Cornelia "Conee" Latta Parrish Pickett

Cornelia ???Conee??? Latta Parrish Pickett, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2016 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born oneeptember 20, 1922 in Granville County, NC, to Roswell I. Latta and Bernee Ragan Latta. She worked in the accounting department at Duke Uneersity for 47 years and retired in 1987. Conee was a longtime member of McMannen Uneed Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, worked with the youth fellowship, taught vacation Bible school and was active in Uneed Methodist Women. She later joined Temple Baptist Church where she was active for many years in a variety of areas. In addition she was a member of the Kings Daughters and Sons and served as vice-president of the Sheltering Home Circle. Conee enjoyed gardening and loved raising roses. She loved sharing her roses with others and spent many Sunday afternoons delivering roses to church members who were homebound. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husbands, Hugh G. Parrish and Stewart M. Pickett and her brother, Edward Latta. Conee is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Robinson and husband, Chuck of Winston-Salem, NC; her step-sons, Stewart Pickett, Jr. and wife, Janet of Indianeeach, NC; Kenneth Pickett of Foscoe, NC; Richard Marshall Pickett and wife, Sandra of Raleigh; and her step- daughter, Carol Ray and husband, Jesse of Asheville, NC; her grandchildren, Kirby Robinson and wife, Katie, Emma Robinson and Helen Robinson, her step-grandchildren, Scott Pickett and wife, Kim, Kendal Rasor and husband, Chris, Robert Rideout and wife, Stacy, and Heather Labrecque and husband, Gary and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Frances Parrish, her sister-in-law, Pat Latta and her nieces, Sandra Latta and Barbara Turkdamar. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Monday, August 1, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Garrard officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
