Curtis Dean "Barney" Roberts died unexpectedly at the family home, 431 S. Cheatham St. in Franklinton, on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Barney was born ineenderson oneecember 25, 1962. Barney will fondly be remembered as a kind and generous man who was always willing to help those ineeed. His kind hearted nature made him popular with friends and co-workers. Barney worked as a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office for more than 20 years and co-owned Roberts Septic Tank & Cleaning. When not busy working he enjoyed spending time with family and friends fishing for large mouth bass. Barney is survived by his mother, Joyce G. Roberts of the home; his sister, Denee R. Roberts; his brothers, Craig Goswick Roberts and Albert Roberts, all of the home; his great unee, C.D. Beckham of Henderson; and his very special cousins, Jacob and Rebecca Goswick. He was preceded ineeath by his father, Arnold Roberts; his maternal grandparents, Hixie and Henry Goswick; and his paternal grandparents, Julius and Iris Roberts. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral Service with the Rev. Clyde Waiden and the Rev. Craig Currin officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 P.M. at Franklin Funeral Home, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton, or other times at the home.
