Dale Eugene Redfoot, formerly of Mercer and Sharpsville, PA., died at his home in Chapel Hill NC., on May 26. He was 73. Mr. Redfoot was born June 19, 1932, ineercer, A., to Clarence and OrphaRingerRedfoot. He died with his loving wife, the former Patricia Irene King, at his bedside, along with his four children, Linda Caracci Blair, Kenneth Redfoot Mary, Marcia Leonard Kevin, and Brad Redfoot Tracy. Dale is also survived by seven much - loved grandchildren, Aaron and Stephanie Caracci; Ashleigh and Caitlyneedfoot all of Chapel Hill, NC; Allison, Sean, and Carly Leonard of Hermitage, PA; and a dear sister, Julia Bartholomew Warren of Warren, Ohio. A large extended family, including many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins remain ineennsylvania and Ohio. He was preceded ineeath by his parents and a brother, Glenn S. Redfoot. Dale contracted polio after graduating from Mercer High School, but went on to become a successful architect. He attended Carnegie Mellon Uneersity in Pittsburgh, PA., and became a registered architect in 1963. He began his career with Walter Mallorie & Associates in Sharon, PA and then started his own firm, Brooks and Redfoot. Over the thirty years he worked in the Shenango Valley, Dale designed and built many schools and churches in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. He moved to Chapel Hill in 1985 aneestablished Redfoot & Weber Construction with his son, Brad and Roneeber. Along with designing and building many homes in Orange County, he formed Piedmont Atlantic, Inc. to build The Highlands neighborhood and Carolina American, Inc. to build the beginning phases of Lake Hogan Farms. Mr. Redfoot was inducted into the Mercer County Hall of Fame in January 2006 for his athletic accomplishments and his contributions to youth sports. Dale was respected and admired by many for his strength, determination, and good humor in the face of tremendous physical obstacles. A funeral service celebrating Dale's life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Durham, NC, on June 9, at 2:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family in C/O Patricia Redfoot 123 Black Cherry Lane, Chapel, NC. 27514. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1200 West Cornwallis Rd, Chapel Hill, NC, 27705.
