Daniel Larson, age 53, of Durham, NC passed away on May 17, 2019 after a lengthy illness and a very courageous journey. ??He was born in 1966 in Stoneham, Massachusetts to Rosalind Gasecki Larson and Alan Larson, and was the youngest of three children. ??Dan was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend. Dan was a former IT professional with a remarkable variety of interests that ranged from music, hiking, and cars to cycling, politics, and the visual arts.?? He was also an insatiable reader and an avid filmgoer. Dan???s passion for living was wondrous and he was always himself in any situation.?? His desire to make people smile and laugh was also profound and it illumineed his wish to make each day brighter for others.?? Dan had a very special spark that he brought into the world and he shared it with family, friends, and acquaintances throughout his lifetime. In addition to his parents, Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Darla Coffey; brothers, Eric Larson and Aneew Larson; and maneextended family members and lifelong friends.?? Dan is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Pauline Samsel and Adolph Gasecki, and his paternal grandparents, Anne Parker aneeverett Larson. Dan had reflected deeply upon his lifetime of relationships and wanted everyone to know that he loved and appreciated the uniqueness of each aneevery person who crossed his path. Those wishing to honor Dan may make a donation to the Eno River Association (www.enoriver.org/donee/), Mason Farm Biological Reserve, c/o North Carolina Botanical Garden (www.ncbg.uneedu/giving-and-donations/), or Transitions LifeCare (www.transitionslifecare.org/donee/).
