David John Davies, 78, of Creedmoor, NC died Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He was born in West Virginia on March 3, 1942, the beloved son of John and Margaret Davies.
David retired from the US Navy after 20 years of valiant service. For the last 18 years, he operated All American Coins in Butner, NC where he worked as a coin dealer.
David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Magda “Maggie” Davies; sons, John Davies, David Davies, Jr., and Peter Davies (Christy Crosby); and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Tom Browning; sister, Jeanine Menzie; mother-in-law, Luz Melendez; and many other loving extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 9:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2020 from St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 804 West D Street, Butner, NC with Padre Marcos León, V.E. presiding. As the Mass will be celebrated outside, attendees are invited to bring their own folding chairs. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 12:00-5:00 PM at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St, Oxford, NC. The funeral Home capacity is restricted to 10 persons at a given time. The family requests that all attendees wear appropriate face coverings in addition to the safe practices of social distancing.
