David Scott Wilkinson

OXFORD: David Scott Wilkinson, age 56, died Wednesday, May 08, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of Dorothy Gupton Wilkinson and the late George Propus "G.P." Wilkinson. David was an employee with Ryder Transportationeervices for over 36 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and was a member of Providence Sporting Club. David also coached softball. Memorial service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 by Reverend Keith Williams and Dr. Steven Bolton. Surviving is his wife Vicki Oakley Wilkinson; his daughter Lauren Victoria Wilkinson of the home; and a step-son, Steven Robert Light of Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718 or to the Granville County Animal Shelter at 5650 Cornwall Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
