David W. Gould

David W Gould (aka Dave, Gouldy, The Mort, J Morton Embarcadero, Mr. G) died peacefully in his sleep July 10, 2016. Born in Lockport, NY, a graduate of Hamilton College and American Uneersity, David taught History and Philosophy at Durham Academy for 31 years, retiring in 2012. David will be sorely missed by Lyn, his favorite Aussie with attitude and wife of 41 years; daughters Keira (Keirie Beirie) aneemma (Bowie) whom he loved acres and acres; sisters Sharon (Laron), Linda (BPP), Bonee (Braids), Barbara (Beelzebub), and Susann; many loved nieces, nephews and cousins; and huneeds of students, now citizens of the world, whom he loved pushing off the fence. These were a few of his favorite things??? THIMK(ing), Sam McGee, vegemite (?), Swack, dormopower, Redfern Island, GRUNTS, sand tennis, rugby, golf (any sport!), poker, playing games (which he always woneecause he always changed the rules!), pranks, beer, scavenger hunts, telling stories, The Land Down Under, travelling, the rolling puck, knee socks, Bill & Ted???s Excellent Adventure, the Thunderbox, questioning authority, the Dukies, Rotary, 4410, his mates, Kema. And above all???TEACHING. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 31st at 2pm, ineenan Auditorium at Durham Academy Upper School, with a reception to follow.
