Dean Jeanette Hargrove

January 5, 1951 — March 29, 2024

Dean Jeanette Edwards Hargrove peacefully passed away on March 29, 2024. She was born on January 5, 1951 to the late Iola Edwards


She graduated from John R Hawkins High School and attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she became a Certified Dental Assistant. In her later years she provided child care services in her home.


She is a member of the Warrenton Baptist Church where for many years she served as the church secretary and choir member.


Dean is survived by her children Andre Lamont Hargrove, Sr. and Melody Hargrove Omuchei. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley Morrison, Mya Hargrove, Faith Hargrove, Jazmin Hargrove, Desiree Hargrove, Andre Hargrove Jr., Permelia Omuchei, and Isabella Omuchei as well as her great-grandchildren Ashton Wyse, Maurice Morrison, Essence Morrison, Madison Hargrove, Nova Williams, and Mi’Angel Hargrove. Everlasting memories will also be cherished by nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Dean was preceded in death by her son Marc McGarrett Hargrove and her brothers Claud Edwards, Edgar Edwards, and Leon Cheek.


Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service located at 1113 W. Main St., Durham, NC 27701.
