Deborah Mortensen Allen, age 57, died Thursday evening, neember 3, at the Hospice of Wake County care facility in Raleigh in the presence of her loving husband of 30 years. Deborah was born in Danbury, CT to the late Dana and Delores LaValley Mortensen on neember 23, 1953. She was a graduate of Southampton College and later served in the U.S. Army. Deborah was an artist all her life and promoted art in Franklin County where she had lived since 1982. From 1996 onward, she sold art through TC Allen Company, which she founded and owned. She was the best mother any child could have asked for. Faithful and devoted to her husband, she was the best wife a man could have; truly the good wife of Proverbs. Her art, optimism, cheerfulness, personality, character, dreams, love, care, wisdom, brilliant ideas and faithfulness will be missed by all. To know her was to love her. She was the captain who steered her ship safely through troubled waters. "As long as there is someone alive who loves you, you will neer die." Deborah is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 30 years, Thomas Coley Allen, II of Franklinton; her children: Thomas Coley Allen, III, also of Franklinton; James Alston Allen of Philadelphia, PA; and Patricia Ann Allen of Greensboro, NC; her sister, Karen Lyons of Seattle, WA; her brothers, Dana Mortensen, Jr. of neeville, FL; Duane Mortensen and Alan Mortensen, both of Seattle, WA; and her grandchildren, Summer Allen and Autumn Allen of White Level, NC A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, neember 12, 2011 from the Franklinton Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St., in Franklinton. The Reverend Samuel Williams will officiate. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.
