Debra Lynn Briggs Moss, passed away in Granville County, NC on December 9, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on July 8, 1959, in Granville County, Debra displayed a passion for life and a commitment to her career that exemplified her kind and nurturing spirit. Debra fought valiantly against cancer, a battle that she faced with courage and grace. As she grew weary, she enveloped herself in peace, ultimately leaving this world to join her Lord and Savior.
With an Associates Degree in Radiology from Louisburg College, Debra dedicated her career as a Radiological Technology Supervisor, to serving others through her work at Murdoch Development Center, Central Regional, and other State Medical facilities. Her colleagues admired her for her professionalism and her ability to spread warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path.
Outside of her professional life, Debra cherished her time in her garden, where she found solace amid the blooms she lovingly nurtured. She often enjoyed sitting on the back porch, soaking in the warmth of the sunshine and the gentle breeze, a reflection of the joy and peace she found in nature. Debra’s heart was large, embracing family and friends alike, showing love and compassion in everything she did. Her home was a sanctuary where laughter and joy could flourish, a testament to her beautiful, graceful personality.
Debra was surrounded by her cherished family, which included her loving daughter, Megan Moss (Keyon Evans), and her beloved granddaughter, Karmyn. She also shared a special bond with her longtime partner, Patrick Leon Crews, and considered Aaron Patrick Crews a "son." She will be deeply missed by her brother, Ronald Briggs (Beverly) and her nieces, Laura Poole (Jason), Adrienne Hagler (Nick) and their beautiful children, Madison and Raylan Poole and Jameson and Jaxson Hagler. They will carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Debra will be missed immensly by her extended family and friends too numerous to name.
Preceding her in death were her father, Howell Briggs and her mother, Dora Kathryn Price Briggs.
To honor her life, a Celebration of Life will take place on December 14, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 PM. Both services will be held at 503 College St, Oxford, NC. All are welcome to share stories of the impact that Debra made on each.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials in her honor may be to the American Cancer Society.
Debra Lynn Moss will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us all to embrace life as she did—with open arms, a joyful spirit, and unwavering love.
