Doris Mae Finch Hodges

Doris Mae Finch Hodges, age 82, of Franklinton, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at her home. A native of Franklin County, she was born oneecember 12, 1930, a daughter of the late James Thomas Finch, Sr. and Lillie Mae Debnam. Along with her parents, Doris is preceded ineeath by her husband of 21 years, George Hodges; her daughter, Sandra Shepard, eight brothers; and two sisters. Described by many as a "wonderful cook," Doris loved to help people in practical ways and did so selflessly. She was widely known for her generosity and kineess. Survivors include her sisters, Betty Jacobs of Hopewell, Virginia, and Patricia Bracknell James of Franklinton, NC; her brothers, Bunee C. Finch Lucille of Wake Forest, NC, Jack Finch Suzanne of Raleigh, NC and Bobby Ray Finch Suranza of Raleigh, NC; neerous nieces and nephews; and most lovingly by her dachshund, "Breezy". A funeral service honoring Mrs. Hodges will be held Sunday, June 28, 2013 at 3:00PM in the Franklinton chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St., Franklinton NC, 27525. The family will receive friends, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made ineer honor to the charity of your choice.
