Dorothy Chamblee Moore, age 86, died Saturday morning at Durham Regional Hospital. She was born in Wake County on neember 15, 1920 to the late Walter David and Mary Dean Chamblee. Mrs. Moore was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. She was a Durham High School graduate, class of 1939. Mrs. Moore worked for 26 years in the Administrative offices at Duke Uneersity before her retirement in 1983. Nothing brought her more pleasure thaneer family and friends. She was rich in both, gladly loving and greatly loved. Mrs. Moore is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, George Estus Moore of Durham, NC; her son, David Moore and wife, Carol, of Cary, NC; her brother, Ernest M. Chamblee of Arlington Station, TX; five grandchildren: Whitney Moore of Charlotte, NC; Justin Moore of Raleigh, NC; Trey Laneey of Atlanta, GA; Brooke Miller of Raleigh, NC; and Will Laneey of Key West, FL. She was preceded ineeath by her daughter, Janet Moore Rhodes, who died in 1987. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from First Baptist Church in Durham with her son, the Reverend David Moore, the Reverend Crate Jones and the Reverend Dr. Aneew Davis presiding. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
