OXFORD: Dorothy Beasley "Dot" Currin, age 86, of 2603 Enon Road, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Charlie P. and Helen Floyd Beasley and widow of Fred D. Currin. Dot was a graduate of Stovall High School 1941 and a graduate of Baltimore Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She was a loyal member of Enon Baptist Church and a homemaker. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Enon Baptist Church by Rev. James C. Shelley, Jr. and Rev. Mark Alexander. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her daughters, Gail C. Gooch, Nancy C. Kerns and Marilyn C. Howard; sons, William J. "Bill" Currin, Wayne B. Currin, and Charles Luther Currin, all of Oxford; her sisters, Mary Helen Langham of Maryville, TN, Delia Owens of Stovall, Margaret Satterwhite of Oxford and Jean Averette of Oxford; her brothers, Roy Hart and Floyd Hart both of Oxford; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by a son, Fred Daniel "Danny" Currin, Jr. and a brother, Dennis O'Brien. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church, c/o Buck Adcock, 2115 Tommie Daniel Road, Oxford, NC 27565. The family will receive friends at the residence at 7:00 P.M. on Friday and at other times at the residence. Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home is assisting the Currin family.
