Dorothy Rozett Fornaby

Dorothy Rozett Fornaby, 86, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Dorothy was eneessly committed as a wife, mother, grandmother, and as an aunt to 27 nieces and nephews. A true Rozett, Dorothy is remembered for her quick wit and wonderfully dry humor. In addition to being a gifted chef, homemaker, and Mahjong player, she also enjoyed politics, travel, gardening, and family pets. Above all, Dorothy loved her family as she was loved by them. Born at her family residence in Yonkers, NY on March 26, 1926 to Arthur J. and Frances P. Rozett, Dorothy was a sister to Arthur, Jr., Gerard, Walter, Ruth, Richard and Jeanne. She married Peter Fornaby, Jr. on neember 11, 1950 and is mother to sons Robert and Paul and grandmother to Rebecca and Sarah Fornaby. Dorothy graduated in 1943 from Commerce High School in Yonkers and worked as a controller in the banking industry for 12 years. She served for many years as a member of Lincoln Park Taxpayers Association in Yonkers, New York and was active in multiple church groups in addition to serving oneeveral boards of PTAs in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30 from Holy Infant Catholic Church with Fr. Dave Devlin presiding. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 31 at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent ineer nee to Holy Infant Roman Catholic Church located at 5000 Southpark Drive, Durham, NC 27713.
