Amy Marie Collinsworth, 45, passed away July 29, 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Amy was born July 20, 1972 in Huntington, Indiana to Barry Graham and Mary Sue (Worthen) Collinsworth. She was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she excelled as a scholar and athlete at Sneer High School. She earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Uneersity of South Carolina, where she played volleyball on full scholarship. She went on to obtaineer PhD in biomedical engineering from Duke Uneersity. She worked at Duke in the Office of Licensing and Ventures most of her career. Amy enjoyed world travel, scuba diving, dancing, and knitting, and was an active member of the Blacknall Presbyterian Church in Durham. More than anything, however, she enjoyed her role as a loving sinee parent of her two young children. She is survived by her daughter Samantha Marie Graham and son Noah Graham; mother, Mary Vandekeere (Edward); father, Barry Collinsworth (Terri); sisters, Molly White (Daniel) aneemily Wall (Peter); grandmother, Wanda Collinsworth; nieces and nephews, Sydney, Samuel, Elizabeth and Peter; step siblings, Josie Klosterman, Ross Klosterman and Aneew Vandekeere. Memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at Blacknall Presbyterian Church, Durham, NC. Reception at 10:00 am, church service at 11:30 am.
