Dr. Basil Wasyl Pshyk passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Basil was born on April 14, 1919 in the town of Piddnistriany, Ukraine. As a faithful Christina for most of his life, he believed in Christ as the so of God, Savior and Redeemer. Basil was one of four sons born to Dmytro and Iryna Pshyk. He attended elementary school in Piddnistrainy and completed high school in Lviv, where he also obtained his veterinary medical education. He received his diploma from Ludwig Maximillan Uneersity and his DVM degree from veterinary school in Haneer, Germany. Basil emigrated to the U.S. in 1950 with his wife, Maria, and son, Fred. They resided in Roanee, VA, where their daughter, Lali, was born, and later moved to Durham in 1957. He attended UNC School of Public Health from 1961-1963 and in 1963 he received his master
