Dr. Page Anderson, Professor of Pediatrics at Duke Uneersity Medical Center, died unexpectedly Saturday, neember 8, 2008. He was born January 12, 1942, ineerkeley, CA. He obtained his B.A. degree from the Uneersity of California at Berkeley in1960 and Doctor of Medicine from Duke Uneersity Medical Center in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 - 1968 during the Vietnam War. From 1968 to 1970, he was a resident ineediatrics at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Anderson joined the Department of Pediatrics at Duke Uneersity Medical Center in 1970, specializing ineediatric Cardiology. Dr. Andersoneerved as Vice Chair for research in the Department of Pediatrics, the Duke Principal Investigator for the Pediatric Heart Network, Program Director for Duke's fellowship program ineediatric Cardiology, and the Principal Investigator for Duke's training grant ineediatric Cardiology. . Ineecognition and honor of his many accomplishments as a clinician, teacher, mentor and investigator, Dr. Anderson was need the Beverly Morgan Distinguished Professor ineediatric Cardiology. In lieu of flowers, donations ineemory of Dr. Anderson may be made to the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology Fellowship Fund, Duke Uneersity Medical Center, and mailed to the Duke Children's Development Office, Box 2975, Duke Uneersity Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, 27710. A memorial celebration is planned for 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from the Lecture Hall in the Nasher Museum of Art, 2001 Campus Dr., Durham. Standard parking fee will apply.
