Dwayne Goldsmith Lee died June 6, 2015 in Durham, NC. He was born on May 11, 1942 in Waco, TX to Lazelle Goldsmith Lee, and Wayneemmit Lee, where he lived until completing high school and matriculating to Uneed States Military Academy. Upon graduating with honors Dwayne served with the Army Corps of Engineers ineermany, Vietnam, Dayton, OH, and Thailand before returning to West Point where he taught in the Department of Engineering. Later postings included Okinawa, Fort Leavenworth, KS, and Washington DC, where he served as a liasoneetween the Army Corps and the Uneed Stated Coneess. Final assignments before retiring took Dwayne to Louisville, KY and Vicksburg, MS. During his service he received the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, a Meritorius Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Legion of Merit with Two Oak Leaf Clusters. Dwayne theneecame Deputy Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, followed by six years with Parsons Corporation, where he helped manee large water resource projects. After a season as a consultant, Dwayne doneed significant time aneenergy to water supply projects in Africa. Dwayne was a committed Christian, serving the church wherever he made his home. His motivation, given shape by Jesus??? teaching on the use of one???s gifts (Matt. 25), led him to a life of exemplary but humble service. Dwayne is survived by his wife of fifty years, Nancy Anneelsoneee, son Wayneemmett Lee (Rhonda), daughter Krista Anneee, and granddaughter Grace Kasper of Memphis, TN. A memorial service will be held at Blacknall Presbyterian Church, 1902 Perry St, Durham, NC, at 11am on Saturday, July 11. Memorial gifts may be made to Lifewater International.
